Breathing new life into the space – from a once dreadful and aged HDB resale flat, into a sophisticated dark modern contemporary house.

Revolving around the concept ‘Whispers of Shadows’, the home was designed to capture cosiness and natural sophistication in the absence of colours. By infusing dark, rich tones and textures with modern furnishings, we seek to evoke a sense of refined coziness and grandeur to the space.

Designing a dark interior takes more than just a randomisation of dark palette. The colours and materials are curated to work in tandem to create a rich and bold interior that exudes comfort rather than plain darkness.

Food is a universal love language that the homeowners take seriously. Reckoned as the crown of the house, the kitchen was requested to be transformed into a spacious open concept for their culinary adventures and meal gatherings. Characterised by dark hues and wood accents, we spotlighted the dining area with ambient lighting to create a dramatic and moody atmosphere.

The finished project achieved the client's goal of a sleek and modern space with a dark personality of its own. By interplaying on the connection between lights and shadows, we introduced muted tones to envelope all corners of the house, creating a calming retreat from the outside world.
